Always a good sign. Strangely, the time was correct but the date was wrong.This unit replaced a comparably priced Dell duo-core. While we always expect an improvement in techs with a newer machine (in this case i5 vs. duo-core CPU), the difference in overall quality is significant - starting with the smart glossy case and design. Then there is that splendid keyboard with a full numeric keypad. The microphone and headphone jacks are where they belong - on the side rather than the front where they interfere with the lip of a tilting stand. Having said that, I wish that manufacturers would start putting CD/DVD drives on the left. Most of us are right handed. On the right, the device interferes with an auxiliary mouse which many of us use. Buyers should know that this does NOT include a bluetooth interface. However, dongles are extremely inexpensive. He really likes it allot! This was to replace is quite nice HP desktop that had a mother board failure. He loaded up his recording studio software on this laptop as he is a drummer, and it handles is great. He takes it to school every day in his backpack, so it does get some abuse too, but no problems. We have 2 Acer Netbooks that get used every day for all kinds of things by our 3 teens and me. No problems at all, everything works just as advertised. I received it in good condition, well packaged and on time. The HD LED Screen is great and so is the Chiclet style Keyboard, Its pretty fast too coz i've been running many programmes with no problems at all, the processor is great. The USB 3.0 makes all the difference in data transfer speed, there's a software that comes with it to manage the USB 3.0, i had to disable the power saving option for it to work smoothly with my buffalo ministation 3.0. It runs quiety and looks great, i like the glossy black, its easy to clean although it gets fingerprints. The speakers are good for a laptop. Haven't tried the intel widi yet though. I love this laptop and i'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quality affordable laptop. |
